Welcome to Ratap Kastom Village on south Pentecost, where we are gearing up to host another exciting season of the nagol in 2023.

Location

South Pentecost – Air Vanuatu serves Pentecost twice a week. Many boats dock up on the west coast of Pentecost from Santo, and if the boat is coming in from neighbouring islands including Efate. Several dirt roads and tracks connect the different villages of Pentecost, however, the transport is relatively expensive because of the conditions of the tracks and there is no regular service. If you stroll on foot, do not hesitate to try the pickups that go by as the drivers will be happy to drop you at your next destination/village.

Details

Our traditional land diving ritual originated as a rite of passage for young men to prove their manhood. It is also a harvest ritual where our people believe that the higher the jumpers dive, the higher and plentiful our crops will grow.

Here are our 2023 dates and entry fees below:

April - Saturday 22nd and 29th.
May - Saturday 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th.
June - Saturday 3th, 10th, 17th, and 24th.
July - Saturday 1st

Entry fee (gate only):

Per Adult: 9,500vt.
Per child: 4,000vt
